How to understand contact lifecycle
Read Lead, Active, and Alumni correctly so you know what RevMozi believes is true about a person right now.
How to understand contact lifecycle
RevMozi keeps every person in one derived lifecycle state at a time:
- Lead
- Active
- Alumni
What each state means
- Lead: the person exists in CRM but has not bought yet
- Active: the person has at least one active enrollment
- Alumni: the person has bought before, but all enrollments are completed, cancelled, or otherwise no longer active
The key rule
Lifecycle follows enrollments and events. It is not meant to be manually managed like a pipeline stage.
Common reasons a contact changes state
- A form submit creates a new Lead
- A successful payment creates an active enrollment and moves them to Active
- Fulfillment completion moves them to Alumni when no active enrollment remains
- A cancellation or refund can also move them to Alumni if no other active enrollment exists
How to read a contact record
When a lifecycle state surprises you, inspect these in order:
- active and completed enrollments
- recent payment or booking events
- recent completion, cancellation, or refund events
Why this matters
Lifecycle shapes messaging. A person who is Active should usually receive fulfillment help, not sales nurture. A person who is Alumni is ready for follow-up, review requests, or ascension.
